Travel
We encourage various travel options for employees and visitors which support sustainable travel to create a workplace ethos that not only recognises the health benefits of using sustainable travel but also cares about the impact travel choices have on the environment. At induction, new starters are directed to our travel page on the company intranet detailing information to support sustainable travel options, including local bus routes and train timetables.
We regularly engage with our people to maintain motivation to choose sustainable travel, and we support a variety of schemes such as the SmartJourneys. We promote the cycle-to-work scheme with strong uptake of this workplace benefit. The building facilities support cycling and walking to work with ample provision of showers and dedicated cloth-drying rooms. We provide cyclist support equipment, such as puncture repair kit, basic repair tools, inner tubes, cycle pumps and we loan lights and cycle locks. The site has ample secure cycle parking, and we also partner with a local bike provider to service employee’s bikes at a discounted rate.
We support the use of electric vehicles and have six car charging facilities on site. Since 2021, our hybrid working model creates further opportunities for employees to work from home and reduces congestion on travel routes daily during peak travel times.
