Unleash four unique Assassins to strike fear into the corrupted hearts of Nurgle’s forces in a brand new DLC for Complex Games’ acclaimed tactical turn-based strategy.

Cambridge, UK – 18 July 2023 – . Frontier Developments plc (AIM: FDEV, ‘Frontier’) and Complex Games, today revealed the expansion pack Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters – Execution Force, weaving its way onto PC on July 25. This second major DLC brings with it the introduction of four unique Assassin classes, allowing Force Commanders to take on a deadly new Tentarus Hive threat and put the forces of Nurgle on the back foot in all-new Death Guard cruiser boarding missions. The DLC will be available through Steam and the Epic Games Store at a suggested retail price of £12.99/$14.99/€14.99.

A highly secretive organisation, the Officio Assassinorum can be requisitioned to provide Strike Force Xiphos with a highly skilled assassin from each of the four major temples, trained dutifully in the art of executing even the deadliest of foes. The Vindicare Assassin can pick off enemies from afar with powerful long-ranged weaponry, whilst the Eversor Assassin embodies unrelenting fury, able to dispatch multiple targets at close range and turn the tide of battle in an instant. Psykers fear the disruption wrought by the Culexus Assassin, capable of disabling immense psychic energies and creating opportunities for allies to deal immense damage. And finally, lurking in the shadows comes the Callidus Assassin, wielding the arts of deception and infiltration as they sow confusion amongst enemy ranks and leave no trace as they strike from the darkest corners of the galaxy.

Once requisitioned, Force Commanders can deploy up to one of each assassin within their squads, rising to meet the newest threat creeping throughout the Tyrtaeus sector – the Tentarus Hive. When one of these missions appears on a planet, corruption levels will continue to rise on the host world unless swift action is taken to eliminate it. The threat level increases further in vicious and intense new boarding missions, where players will lead their forces into the heart of a pursuing enemy cruiser in a race against time to disable its power generators and destroy the vessel.

Alongside the launch of the DLC, all players will also receive a free new update which brings with it the Tainted Sons, a new enemy patrol troop which also adds three brutal new enemies to Nurgle’s menagerie: the mutation-loving Plague Surgeon, the overwhelming Nurgling Swarm and the towering Beast of Nurgle. Additionally, Commanders will tackle new Warp Surge threats thanks in part to the support of the Adeptus Mechanicus, providing new wargear options for outfitting squads.

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters – Execution Force carries with it a host of new content for players, spanning new units, mission types, maps and more, as they seek to regain control of the Bloom-infested Tyrtaeus sector.

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters – Execution Force will require the base game to play, and the new content will commence with a mysterious communication from the Officio Assassinorum following the first Grand Master’s report in the campaign, with new mission types and the menace of the Tentarus Hive threat unfolding throughout the rest of the campaign.

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters is available to buy now on PC across Steam and the Epic Games Store, with a suggested retail price of £34.99/$44.99/€44.99 for the standard version and £44.99/$54.99/€54.99 for the Castellan Champion Edition.
